(1) Ravichandran Ashwin lost his cool during the match in TNPL

In the 2nd season of TNPL in 2017, R Ashwin lost his cool during the match between Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Super Gillies.

What happened is CSG’s bowler R Sai Kishore took the wicket of DD’s batter N Jagadeesan and gave him a fiery send-off as well. Both players lost their cool and in the heat of the moment, pushed each other.

Ravichandran Ashwin, from the no strikers end watched all this and joined the argument as well. He also lost his cool and have a word with R Sai Kishore. Things got heated there but CSG captain R Sathish and senior player Thalaivan Sargunam calmed him down.

That was not good in the spirit of the game as we saw this game as ‘The Gentlemen’s Game.’ But sometimes, players can’t control their emotions during the match.

(2) Bowling with a unique action during TNPL 2019

As we said earlier, R Ashwin is a street-smart cricketer. He has so many variations in his armory while bowling. We saw him bowling with different bowling actions in the match over the years.

The same thing happened during the TNPL 2019. In a game against Madurai Panthers, he bowled with a different bowling action. He goes with a slingy wide-arm action and his bowling style looks like Sunil Narine.

The off-spinner even bowled with another bowling action and bowled a much flighter delivery. He even got a wicket of that ball as well as the batter got out on the boundary line. It was very different from his bowling action.

Also, we saw Ravichandran Ashwin pause while bowling before delivering the ball. Maybe that’s also his variation in bowling. That thing made a headline during TNPL 2019.

(3) Ashwin reviews a review recently

During a recent TNPL 2023 game between Dindigul Dragons and Ba11sy Trichy, Ravichandran Ashwin did an unusual thing. He reviewed an already-reviewed decision.

R Ashwin came into the attack in the 13th over and gave 5 runs on the first five balls. On the 6th ball, he bowled a very full ball outside off stump and R Rajkumar tried to whack it over cover. The batter missed that shot and the ball went into the wicketkeeper’s hand.

The on-field umpire gave the batsmen out and the batter, R Rajkumar reviewed the decision straight away. After checking all the things, the third umpire overturned the decision, stating there is a gap between the bat and the ball, and the bat touched the ground as well.

R Ashwin wasn’t happy with that decision and decided to review that decision again. But the third umpire again gave the decision in the batsmen’s favor. The DD captain looked animated after that incident happened.
