Home » India VS West Indies Final ODI: Teams, Schedule and Timings

Team India is on an all-format tour to West Indies. The tour consists of two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is. The Test series has come to an end, with India winning 1-0 comfortably. The ODI series is on to the decider i.e., the final ODI.

There were three debutants from the Indian side, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, and Mukesh Kumar. All three of them played a brilliant brand of cricket in the two-match series.

Both the teams have won one match in this three-match ODI series, and we are heading towards the decider. For the final ODI, teams will be heading to the Tarouba Stadium in Trinidad.

India will look to capitalize on this series, as they will try to win the final ODI and seal the series. In the second ODI, Rohit and the management took a couple of decisions about him and Kohli sitting out, but that did not go well for the Indian teams as they lost the game.

On the other hand, West Indies will gain a lot of confidence from this win as they have been miserable in this particular format lately. Keacy Carty and Shai Hope cruised the chase positively and sealed a win in the second ODI.

If West Indies manages to win this series by winning the final ODI, then they will be in a positive phase and would look to build the team.

Team News

With a lot of injuries in the Indian camp, a few youngsters have been included for the ODI series. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Umran Malik, and Mukesh Kumar featured in this series in the absence of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami.

Sanju Samson is back in the ODI squad due to his consistent performances for India. Jaydev Undadkat hasn’t played an ODI since 2013, and he might get a chance in the Final ODI.

This series was an opportunity for these players to showcase their talent and knock on the doors for the World Cup squad. Many of these will be replaced by injured players, but these guys have a chance to shine in the eyes of the selectors before the big event. Ishan Kishan has scored half-centuries in both of the ODIs and will look to play the same way in the Final ODI.

Players to watch out for in the Final ODI

Shai Hope: Shai Hope is the only consistent batter in the West Indies. He also had a great time at the World Cup qualifiers but could not get his team through. He has already scored two half-centuries in two ODIs and has looked in great touch. In the second ODI, Keacy Carty stood up and made a partnership with him to chase the total comfortably. In the last and the final ODI, Shai Hope will be a key player from the Windies and will have to score the same way he is doing now.

Ishan Kishan: Ishan Kishan has been in wonderful form on the West Indies tour. He made his Test debut and scored his maiden Test fifty on this tour only. And now, he has smashed two half-centuries in the first two ODIs. Ishan is the front-runner for the upcoming World Cup as a wicket-keeper batter. With the series on the line, Ishan will try to continue the momentum and play the way he has been playing.
