The ICC World Cup Qualifiers are going on and we have already got the top 6 teams for the Super Six stage. Zimbabwe, Netherlands, and West Indies have qualified for the Super Six from Group A. And Sri Lanka, Scotland, and Oman advanced to Super Six from Group B. Nepal and the US from Group A and Ireland and UAE from Group B have been eliminated from the ICC World Cup Qualifiers race. But there are still critical points to grab for the teams. Let’s first see the positions in the Super Six stage.

Group A

3 wins for Zimbabwe in the WC qualifiers

Zimbabwe has won all three games in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers till now. They started their campaign against Nepal. ZIM won that game by 8 wickets. Captain C Ervine scored an outstanding hundred and becomes the man of the match.

Then, they won against the Netherlands in a high-scoring encounter while chasing 316. S Raza scored 102 off just 54 balls and becomes the man of the match. S Williams also scored 91 off 58 balls. Zimbabwe chased down a target with 6 wickets and 9.1 overs to spare.

They finalized their Super Six spot after an emotional win against West Indies

Zimbabwe got all out for 268 in the first inning against WI. But the bowlers did the job for them and restricts WI to 233. Zimbabwe won the game by 35 runs and S Raza becomes the man of the match.

The Netherlands is also in the Super Six

The Netherlands, from Group A, also managed to reach the Super Six stage. They didn’t start their tournament very well. In the first game against Zimbabwe, they lost by 6 wickets despite a good batting performance.

But they made a strong comeback and won their next two games against US and Nepal. Against the US, they won by 5 wickets, and against Nepal by 7 wickets. Right now, they are playing their last Group A game against West Indies. WI scored 374 on the board in the first inning after losing the toss. There is no context of this game as both the teams are already qualified for the Super Six stage in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

WI also managed to reach Super Six

Despite losing a game against Zimbabwe, WI advanced to the Super Six in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers. They won their first two games against US and Nepal by 39 and 101 runs.

It will be very disappointing for a team like West Indies if they won’t make it to the top 2. They used to dominate world cricket and now look at them, playing the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

Group B

Sri Lanka dominates Group B

SL came in this ICC World Cup Qualifiers as the strongest team of all. And they did well till now. They won all three games in UAE, Oman, and Ireland. SL won all three games quite convincingly. They won their first game against UAE by 175 runs. And then went on to win the next two games by 10 wickets and 133 runs against Oman and Ireland respectively.

Scotland also unbeaten in Group B

Scotland is also another team in Group B after Sri Lanka who hasn’t lost any game in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers till now.

They won a close first game against Ireland by one wicket. And then defended the totals against UAE and Oman. They won the next two games by 111 and 76 runs respectively.

Now Sri Lanka and Scotland will play the last game of Group B on June 27 at Bulawayo. It will be interesting to see which team will lose. Both the teams haven’t lost any games in ICC World Cup Qualifiers yet.

Oman in the Super Six

Oman won two games and lost two games. But they managed to go into the Super Six of the Qualifiers. After winning their first two games against Ireland and UAE, they lost their next two games against Sri Lanka and Oman.

Critical points are still up for grab

These six teams will look to go into the top 2. Playing a World Cup for their country is a very big thing. And all the teams will give their heart out for this.

They qualified for the Super Six stage. But the job is not done yet. There are still some critical points to grab. And the way will be more difficult.
